Pole Signs are generally free-standing Cabinet Signs. The poles can be exposed or hidden by a Skirt/Pole cover; when hidden, the sign can also be referred to as a Pylon Sign.

You will generally see these signs in locations where the building is too far from the road for a building mounted sign to be readable: in shopping centers and along highways.
