Littleton Village Public Art Project – An Award-Winning Showcase of Creativity and Craftsmanship In 2017-2018, BSC Signs partnered with Norris Design of Denver to bring the Littleton Village Public Art Project to life, crafting two imaginative 3D leaf canopy structures for the central park of this 77-acre residential development. These massive, colorful sculptures, each weighing 11,000 pounds, tower over visitors, inspiring a sense of wonder and playfulness. The project earned BSC Signs the prestigious Best In Show award, a testament to the innovative collaboration and craftsmanship involved.
Working alongside the architect & structural engineer, we used detailed 3D models to fabricate these striking sculptures. Each 24-foot central pole supports three curved steel mesh “leaves,” the largest measuring 27 by 18 feet with natural painted finishes and perforated metal centers. To accommodate transportation, the largest leaves were built in two pieces to fit under highway overpasses and clear other obstacles.
Installation was completed on-site over two days with the help of a commercial crane operator, while additional festoon poles were designed to support lanterns for festivals and community events. This project, which was also featured in Sign Design & Graphics Magazine, reflects BSC Signs’ dedication to blending functionality, artistry, and engineering to create impactful public art installations.
