LuBird’s Playground, located in Aurora, is an inclusive and accessible playground at Stanley Marketplace and the only one of its kind in the area. The team at BSC Signs worked together with the LuBird’s Light Foundation to make custom signs for this fun, exciting, and one-of-a-kind project.
FABRICATED LETTERS & SIGNS
The fabricated letters and signs were custom-designed, cut in steel, and mounted directly onto the arches and donor walls. They compliment and strengthen the park’s décor, and the overall view adds an exciting spark to the kids’ play area. The exterior signs help attract kids and adults alike and invite them to enjoy a fun-filled family time.
THE MATERIALS USED
Flat-cut metal letters can be customized in multiple font sizes, styles, and finishes and are available in a huge variety of metals, such as stainless steel, aluminum, Cor-Ten steel, bronze, and brass.
THE MEASUREMENTS
Fabricated stainless steel letters can range from 4 inches to 36 inches tall while being ½ inch to 5 inches thick.
THE CUTTING PROCESS
Depending upon the project at hand, the faces of these letters are cut using high-power water jets or laser cutting systems. The letters are then shaped by hand.
TYPES OF FINISHES
They can either be rail or stud mounted and are available in brushed, mirrored, polished, and painted finishes.
