store your banners

Commercial banners are effective and affordable options to display your brand and corporate image. They are extremely adaptable and you can use them basically anywhere, from the inside of your office or building lobby, to outdoor advertising, or taking them with you to important events. Therefore, we all want our business banners to stay looking brand new.

These important and effective elements of advertising, take a lot of beating and they will eventually wear out. It is vital to take good care of them in order to keep them nice and shiny. Nonetheless, good maintenance is useless, if you fail to store it correctly.

Clean it before

Before even looking for a room to store your banners, it is vital to clean them properly. Storing your banner dirty could easily damage or stain it. Use a mild soap, a sponge or mop, and water. Wet the banner with water and gently use your sponge to wipe away any excess dirt. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Solvents could easily damage your vinyl banner.

Once clean, let it air dry completely before storing or re-hanging your banner. Any dampness could allow mildew to grow. For those banners that are kept in storage, you should clean it at least once per year, or after every other use.

Storing room

When storing your banner, make sure to look for a cool, dry area. It doesn’t matter if it is for short or long periods. If you plan to store your vinyl banner for a long time, it is a good idea to use a storage tube to protect your vinyl banner.

Heat is also a bad element for banners. Avoid storing your banner near heat sources, such as headlights, heating vents or sunlight.  Heat will cause the vinyl banner to deteriorate and become brittle or might cause the ink on the vinyl banner to lift or stick to itself.

Roll it!

Make sure to roll your banner up and avoid folding it. Folding your banner when storing will cause it to crease or crumple. These types of wrinkles are basically impossible to remove, especially after a long period of time. If your banner has graphics applied to the surface, it should always be rolled up with the letters facing out.
